ENDOGENOUSPERIODIC ACTIVITYOF APPLES WHEN RIPENING

S.A. Rodikov

Abstract

Endogenous periodic activity of apples when ripening during growth in the garden and at time of cold storage is specified. It is shown that chlorophyll content change, electrical resistance of the tissue at alternating current, transpiration rate, starch hydrolysis during growth and apples ripening is subject to impact of periodic processes. This phenomenon can be used when assessing the intensity of apples physiological processes for the purpose of determination of the optimal term of their removal for long-term storage.
