EXAMINING SOME DESERT CONDITIONS ON SOME NON ALIVE WASTE INDUSTRIAL MULCHES FOR CONTROLLING WIND EROSION

Mohammad Amir Koopaeenia and Sayyed Fakhreddin Afzali

Abstract

One of the most frequent methods stabilizing soil in order to prevent wind erosion and dust control is mulch,so its resistance against environmental erosion factors may be effective in selecting the type of the mulch; hence, in the study some non-living mulches resistant was examined against wind, pressure and humidity in desert conditions by using lab. Wind tunnel in different simulated environmental temperature. Treatments included 13 types of mulch (Different compositions of polymeric mulch and of gravel, stone powder, Converter sludge and regional soil with high clay content and aggregation), two types of the bed soils (Soil with moderate and severe erosion), three environmental heat levels (ambient temperature, 50° and 60° C) in three repetitions. The results from wind tunnel indicated no erosion in the 10 m/s speed in 0.25 m height in the tunnel (Equal to 18 m/s in 10 m height) for 5 minutes.
