Abstract

The field experiment entitled, “Effect of integrated nutrient management on yield of pomegranate (Punica granatum L) cv. Bhagwa” was conducted during ambia bahar of 2009 at the Instructional cum Research orchard, PGI, Rahuri, Precision Farming Development Center. The field experiment consisting of 11 treatments viz GRDF, RDF, 50% N -RD + 50%N-FYM ,50 %N–RD + 50% N-vermicompost,50% N–RD + 50% N-neemcake, 50% N–RD+ 50% N-SWPMC,100%N-FYM, 100%N-vermicompost,100%N- neemcake,100%NSWPMC and combination of 25%N each through FYM, vermicompost, neemcake and SWPMC with 3 replications. The biofertilizers were applied as common dose to all treatments except GRDF and RDF. The maximum total yield was harvested from the treatment T1 (GRDF) and was at par with the treatments T3, T10, T8, T11 and T7. The maximum marketable yield (27.95 kg tree-1, 20.68 t ha-1) was recorded in T1 The maximum number of fruits per tree (86.27) were also observed in T1 . But the maximum percentage (18.29%) of ‘A’ grade fruits were observed in treatment T3 (50 % N through chemical fertilizers and 50 % N through FYM with biofertilizers) and was at par with the treatments T1, T4 and T10. The maximum percentage (32.02) of ‘B’ grade fruits were observed in T1 which was at par with the treatments T11 (30.01) and T3(25.00). However, the treatment T4 (50 % N through chemical fertilizers and 50 % N through vermicompost with biofertilizers) received the highest percentage (35.40) of ‘C’ grade fruits.( weight-251-300 g).The maximum average weight of fruit (370 g) was recorded in treatment T3 (50 % N through chemical fertilizers and 50 % N through FYM with biofertilizers) and was at par with the treatments T1(360 g), T4(360 g), T8-(360 g), T6(350 g) and T11 (350 g).
