Abstract

Yellow Teak is an important timber species grown in India. The data of Yellow Teak collected from Dandeli depot, Karnataka from May 1987 to May 2011 with the following headings: Length, Girth, Volume of the lot, Number of logs in a timber lot and Price of the lot. Hedonic price analysis was used to assess the value of product characteristics and their contribution to the price of Yellow Teak using regression. Linear, Logarithmic and Semi-logarithmic models were fitted. Linear model shows the best fit model and conclude that volume of the timber is the strongest determinant of the price.
