DETERMINATION OF STATISTICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF STREAM FLOW OF TUNGABHADRA RIVER, KARNATAKA, INDIAMallikarjuna and A.A. AtreAbstract The present work has been carried out to determine the statistical characteristics of stream flows for Tungabhadra River. The statistical characteristics, i.e., mean, variance, standard deviation, skewness coefficient and kurtosis were determined for 33 years stream flow data at Munirabad dam site of Tungabhadra River. The monthly and annual stream flow data of Tungabhadra River can be considered as normally distributed data after obtained the final results. Such a normally distributed data helps to future data generation and generate the time series models.
