LIMNOLOGICAL STUDY OF SELECTED HILL STREAMS OF SOUTHEASTERN RAJASTHAN, INDIAKULDEEP SINGH GAUR, VIPUL SHARMA, BHOOPENDRA KUMAR VERMA, M.S. SHARMA*, RIDDHI SHARMA, DEEPALI AND RESHAM RAJPUTAbstract The streams under investigation are located within the geographical limits of 24° 51' 53"N to 25° 00' 23"N, 75° 26' 25"E to 75° 35' 52"E. Seven streams: the Brahmani, Badwa Khal (streams in local parlance), Sripura Khal, Khordia Khal, Bhamboo Khal, Paharajhar and Jagpura Khal of two river basins; the Brahmani and the river Chambal (south-eastern Rajasthan) were investigated in reference to limnological features. The parameters which were taken into account are air and water temperature, pH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen, hardness, phosphate, nitrate, silicate, primary productivity, phytoplankton, zooplankton and benthic fauna.
