DEVELOPMENT OF A NOVEL BACTERIAL STRAIN BY INTERGENERIC FUSION OF E.COLI AND ACHROMOBACTER LACTICUM FOR DEGRADATION OF CHLORPYRIFOS AND CYPERMETHRINCHITRA VERMA AND U.S. BAGDEAbstract A novel bacterial strain was developed by the intergeneric protoplast fusion between E. coli and Achromobacter lacticum. It resulted in the simultaneous degradation of two pesticides Chlorpyrifos as well as Cypermethrin and also in a more efficient manner than its parent strains.
