Abstract

The pre-soaking seed treatments were given before sowing of seed. Pre-soaking seed treatments were carried out to assess the performance in seed quality parameters in laboratory. The higher germination percentage (76.00%) was recorded in the pre-soaking seed treatment of GA3 400 ppm soaking for 6 hrs followed by (72.00%) GA3 200 ppm soaking for 12 hrs and (69.33%) 1% KNO3 soaking for 6 hrs. Seed quality parameters viz., shoot length (cm), root length (cm), seedling dry weight (g) and vigour index were improved by presoaking seed with GA3 400 ppm for 6 hr followed by GA3 200 ppm for 12 hr and 1% KNO3 for 6 hr.
