Abstract

Soybean is a source of protein and energy rich oil seed crop. A main experiment on soybean was carried out on the receding fertility gradients of the undisturbed previous crop of tomato using manure and fertilizers. FYM blocks were maintained by adding 0, 10 and 20 mg ha-1 FYM. On the respective blocks of FYM, identified twenty one treatment combinations of NPK and three absolute control treatments were superimposed and randomized similarly that all the treatments were laid out in the FYM blocks and the fertility gradients as well. Initial soil and FYM samples were analyzed for available and total nutrients content, respectively. Treatment wise soybean grain and straw yield was recorded and were analyzed for NPK nutrient concentration and total uptake. Based on these observations, parameters viz., nutrient requirement (NR) kg q-1, contribution from soil (CS %), contribution from fertilizers (CF %) and FYM were worked out. These parameters were used to formulate fertilizer prescription equations with and without FYM.
