INDIRECT ELISA-ITS COMPARATIVE USEFULNESS OVER DOUBLEDIFFUSION AS AN IMMUNOLOGICAL TOOL TO DETECT HUMORAL ANTIBODY RESPONSE AGAINST SOME ASPERGILLUS ANTIGENS IN IMMUNOSUPPRESED CANCER PATIENTSKARUNA S. VERMA AND VIDHAN JAINAbstract Aspergillosis is considered to be second only to candidiasis in the frequency of mycosis among cancer patients. Serology is often required to make perfect diagnosis about fungal mycosis. In this short study patient's immunological response has been checked by indirect ELISA and double diffusion (DD) method against fungal antigens of Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus niger. Indirect ELISA has been found more sensitive than DD in detecting possible aspergillosis among immunosuppresed cancer patients.
