Abstract

Well developed protocorm - like bodies of Dendrobium crepidatum Lindl. and Paxt. obtained via shoot tip cultures were encapsulated in alginate. MS basal medium and MS medium supplemented with growth regulators. Encapsulated plb's upon transferring either to nutrient medium or directly on sterile sand regenerated healthy plantlets. Mulltiple shoots were formed in on MS basal medium supplemented with NAA (0.5 mg/1) and BAP (0.5 mg/1). 55% encapsulated plb's germinated on sterile sand under in vivo condition. Abreviations: Plb's - Protocorm - like Bodies, BAP- Benzyl Amino Purine, CW- Coconut water, NAANaphthalene Acetic Acid and MS- Murashige and Skoog medium.
