EFFECT OF GARLIC ON SPLEEN ENZYMES DEPLETED BY THE CHRONIC IN VIVO TOXICITY OF SEVIN IN MLIS MLISCULLISMAHIRA PARVEEN, VINOY KUMAR SHRIVASTAVA, MOHD. SANJAY QURESHI, MANJANA KUMARI AND SANTOSH KUMARAbstract Albino mice Mus musculus were given the sublethal dose of sev in for 15 and 30 days by the intraperitoneal injection. Retrieval and recovery were observed separately in two groups. Spleen enzymes were studied and their activities were determined. GOT, GPT and ALP enzyme activities were decreased in spleen of both the sevin injected groups. It was observed that garlic could prevent depletion of these enzymes in retrieval and recovery in both the cases. The immunoprotective effect of garlic is established by the retrieval and recovery of these enzymes.
