SOWUNMIAbstract Cowdung and composite of chicken manure and brewers' wastes were evaluated for nutrient characteristics. The concentrations of nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N), ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) and phosphate (PO43-) from cowdung (0.26±0.18, 0.13±0.18; 0.59±0.53, 0.30±0.14; 0.19±0.12, 0.27±0.11 mg/1) were lower compared with composite (0.20±0.80, 0.33±0.14; 0.96±0.55, 0.72±0.45; 0.30±0.13, 0.30±0.22 mg/1) for all trials. F-statistic indicated significant differences for the nutrients across treatments and water quality parameters except pH (F=1.40). Addition of brewers' wastes to chicken manure apparently delayed rate of nutrient exhaustion for the composite.
