MEDICINAL PLANTS OF PADERU FOREST DIVISION IN THE EASTERN GHATS OF VISAKHAPATNAMB.T. RAO, B.B. LAKSHMI, L.M. RAO, K.RAMANESWARI AND V. HYMAVATHIAbstract Various species of medicinal plants (110) that occur quite commonly and abundantly in the Forests of Kodeli and Irukuvalasa Vana Samarakshan Samithi of Paderu division in the Eastern ghats of Visakhapatnam district have been collected, identified and listed out. The medico-ethnological data obtained from the tribals of the two areas, who are well acquainted with the medicinal plants, revealed information regarding the specific parts of the plants having medicinal value. The different ailments that can be treated by these plants have been given in brief.
