EFFECT OF ADDED CEMENT IN SOIL ON THE ELASTICITY MODULE IN PROBLEMATIC CLAY SOILS

Amin Salemnia and Mahmoud Karimiandjavad Ahadiyan

Abstract

Due to demand of soil as a main material in construction, and lack of enough quality in all soils, improvement of soil with additives is important. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of cement and compaction on module of elasticity and axial strength of soil. The result shows that module of elasticity increase to 420 time by adding cement and with increase Elapsed time, module of elasticity will increase to several times (depends on compaction). The more compaction the more will be the intensity of this increase. Also cement increases axial strength of soil to 20 times.
