VARIATION IN FLORA COMPOSITION OF EGBADO SOUTH RANGELAND OF NIGERIAB.B.A. Taiwo and M.O DaudaAbstract Four herds consisting of 39, 38, 33 and 36 heads of cattle were used to identify the flora composition of Egbado South rangeland in Ilaro, Owode, Oja Odan and Imeko respectively. The rangeland had more variety of grasses followed by shrubs, browse plants, legumes and scanty forbs. Of the lot, grasses had the highest dry matter (%DM), 93.9% and gross energy (GE), 3.6Kcal/g while shrubs were superior in crude protein, (%CP), 6.92% and ash, 19.19%. The browse plants were the least fibrous (%CF), 6.22% and were better than other identified plant in ether extract (%EE), 7.44% and nitrogen free extract (%NFE), 68.46%.
