Abstract

Phosphoric acid impregnated tea leaves carbon (PTLC) has been studied as an adsorbent to remove heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions. Distribution coefficients of eight metal ions are determined in solutions of different pH (3-7). Break through and exhaustive capacities, removal and recovery of Cr (VD, Hg ow and Fe (III) and effect of diverse ions have been studied. The adsorption data follow Langmuir model as well as Freundlich model. Some thermodynamic data are also determined.
