TRACE METAL CONCENTRATION IN AMBIENT AIR AT SELECTED SITES OF MANDIDEEP TOWNSHIP, IN VICINITY OF BHOPAL (INDIA)

Abstract

Nn attempt has been made to assess the concentration of toxic trace metals in ambient air at Mandideep township. The he main toxic metals namely Iron, Copper, Nickel, Chromium, Zinc and Lead were studied and sampled at four strategic and pollution prone areas covering residential (Patel Nagar), commercial (Durga Chowk), industrial (New Industrial Area) and Sensitive (satiai)IIr). I he concentration of all the six metals were found in the order of iron>copper>Lead> Nickel> Zinc> Chromium. Area wise maximum trace metal pollution load as compared to other sites as this area is surrounded by many was observed at industrial site industries and situated near dense traffic highway.
