Abstract

The paper deals with ecological investigations carried out during 1993-94 on Aner River situated at the boundary of Jalgaon and Dhulia districts, Maharashtra. The various physicochemical parameters studied include temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen content and salinity. Plan ktons were also investigated. Thermal fluctuations were wide so the plankton and animal movements were greatly affected. Water was alkaline and hard. Dissolved oxygen content showed an inverse relationship with temperature and a positive relationship with plankton population. Salinity showed inverse relationship with plankton population.
