VARIATIONS IN ACUTE TOXICITY OF ENDOSULFAN AND MONOCROTOPHOS TO LABE° ROHITA, MYSTIIS VITTATLIS AND CHANNA PLINCTATAL.M. RAO AND K. RAMANESWARIAbstract The 96 hr LC,,, values of pesticides endosulfan and monocrotophos to Labeo rohita, Mystus vittatus and Channa punctata have been evaluated. The calculated LC,,, values of endosulfan to Labeo rohita was 1.404 lig/1, to Mystus vittatus was 1.652 n/1 and to Channa punctata was 2.148 pg/1. The calculated LC of monocrotophos to Labeo rohita to Mystus vittatus and Channa punctata were 3.558 mg/ 2.274 ing/I and 3.285 ing/I respectively. The reasons for the apparent variations of toxicity of endosultan and monocrotophos to the three groups of fishes have been discussed.
