INDUCED TOLERANCE BY UNICONAZOLE AGAINST CADMIUM PHYTOTOXICITY IN ABELMOSCHUS ESCULENTUS L.SHUBHRATA PUROHIT AND V.P. SINGHAbstract The effect of cadmium on the growth of Abelmoschus esculentus L. was studied both in the Uniconazole-treated and non-treated plants, to evaluate whether Uniconazole could alleviate the Cd-cfkets. Cd was found to have deleterious effects on growth, while Uniconazole-treatment promoted growth in Cd-treated plants and showed some significant enhancement in the other parameters studied.
