SLOPE AND LANDUSE CHANGES INA KALWAN TAHSIL INDIAS.M.Bhamare & M.P. PagarAbstract Kalwan Tahsil characterized by upland and wide variation in slope has experienced considerable land use changes. The present paper attempt to establish the relationship between slope and land use. Wntworth's method ad odp4t2ed for estimation of the spatial distribution of average slope. Slope varies greatly and ranges between 00 and Pediments are dominated by agricultural land use (area 43266.25 or 45%). Agriculture is limited by 14° slope. Terraces occur in several higher slope positions. Where shifting cultivation is practiced. Maximum forest the slope is the major cobare. Thus area lies in 140_280 slope categories (area 336447.09 or 37.7%). Higher slopes are almostntrolling factor of land use in the Kalwan Tahsil.
