HYDROBIOLOGICAL STUDY OF WILSON DAM WATER, DISTRICT AHMEDNAGAR (MS), INDIA

Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken to study the physicochemical and biological characteristics of Wilson dam water. Seasonal variations in water temperature, pH, DO, free CO2, BOD, chloride, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, phosphate were studied during the period of 2003-2005. Algal taxa belonging to Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Euglenophyceae and Dianophyceae were identified.Total of 115 sps belonging to 54 genera were reported. Percentage composition and seasonal percentage value of five groups were calculated.
