VESICULAR-ARBUSCULAR RILYCORRNZAL T\SSOCIATION OF TREE SPECIES IN HUMID TROPICAL FORESTS OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH

Abstract

Presence of the VAM association has been evaluated in 25 tree species of humid tropical forests. All the 25 species tested had the VAM association with their roots. VAM colonization varied from species to species and ranged from the least of 22% in Kydia calycina to the highest of 8 I % in Phoebe goalparensis. Occurrence of the YAM symbiosis was found to be distributed among 22 families representing 25 tree species in the investigation. The VAM fungi associated with studies plants mainly belonged to the species Acaulospora, Enterophospora, Glomus, Gigaspora, Sclenacystis and Scutellospora.
