ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY OF A SUGAR FACTORYS. C. Panda, R. N. Kar, P. Patra and B. Das
This paper attempts to describe the environmental study carried out during 1994-95 at the Sakthi Sugars Ltd., Dhekanal. The parameters studies were soil,\fkater, air and noise. Samples were taken in 3 different seasons (August/February/April), analysed for agricultural parameters, heavy metals, bacterial count (for soil), TSS, TDS, total hardness, pH, DO, BOD and bacterial count (for water), SPM (for air). A flora survey was also included. Conclusions based on the data and recommendations for mitigating the adverse effects have been given.
