Feacal streptococci in fish flesh were ranging from nil to I .3x I 0 5/gm, Staphylococcus was found high in considerable high in number ranging from nil to 4.0x105/gm,Coliform bacteria the populations range between nil to 36 /gm and Salmonella are totally absent in the fish market. The main acceptability of based on bacteriological content was found to be 67.49% in Ratnagiri Fish market.All samples were collected from Ratnagiri fish market were acceptable based on biochemical quality.
