Impact of weed growth on little millet (Penicum sumatrense, Roth ex. Roem and Schult) crop, variety SS.8 1 - 1, was studied in vivo at the Agriculture Research station,Ankuspur in the District of Ganjam, Orissa. The Phytosociological attributes, morphological attributes, biomass structure, primary productivity and total chlorophyll content of the crop exhibited higher value in weed free beds compared to weed infested beds. The nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and protein content of grain as well followed similar trend. The compartmental caloric values were found high in weed free beds to that of weed infested beds. Most of the attributes in between the weed free and weed associated beds showed significant differences throughout the sampling periods.
