ATMOSPHERIC INCIDENCE OF RUST SPORES OVER GROUNDNUT FIELDS

M.C. Mahajan and B.N. Pande

Abstract

Rust spores were trapped frequently in the air over groundnut fields during summer and rainy seasons of 1994 by using continuous Tilak Air sampler. Incidence of spores was regular during summer seasons and irregular during Kharif season. Maximum incidence of rust spores was recorded in the month of June and August respectively. The highest daily mean concentration was recorded on 10th, I I th, and 14th July 1994 during kharif and 23rd of June during summer season. The relationship between airborne rust spores and meteorological parameters is also worked out in this paper.
