ANALYSIS OF VEET TI N OF A PROTECTED FORESTPrakash C. Joshi, Ritesh Joshi and Namita JoshiAbstract Some population characteristics of vegetation of a protected forest were studied during October, 1997 to January, I 998. Shorea robusta Gaertn. F. was the most frequent (62.5%, mean value, tree species with a density of 162.5/ha, (mean value) followed by Mallotus philippinensis Muell-Arg. with a frequency of 50% and density of I05/ha mean value. Most of the tree species were randomly distributed. Among the shrubs, Sida cordata Linn. was having the highest density (92.5/ha mean value) followed by Ichnocarpus frutescens R. Br. (60/hac mean value).
