THE AMBIENT AIR CONCENTRATIONS OF CARBONMONOXIDE IN AN URBAN ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

The present paper deals with the changes in the ambient air concentrations of carbon monoxide on some main roads and busy traffic intersections of lndore, Madhya Pradesh. A Bimodal pattern with two day time peaks, one in the morning and the other in the evening, and a drop in the early afternoon was observed as influenced by the vehicular traffic. Various factors influencing the ambient air concentrations are discussed.
