VARIATIONS IN TOTAL PROTEIN CONTENT OF FOUR SPECIES OF MYSTUS FROM MEHADRIGEDDA STREAM OF VISAKHAPATNAML.M. Rao, K.S. Reddy and V. Hymavathi
A comparative study on the variations in total protein content of M. vitlaws, M. keletifus, lvi. cavasius and M. gulf° occurring together in mehadrigedda stream of Visakhapatnam have been carried out during January to December 1992. The percentage of muscle protein content recorded in the four different species revealed that M. gulio which is abundant towards the mouth of stream is rich in muscle protein than the other three species that are abundant in the upstream. The results are discussed in detail.
