EXPLOITATION OF FARM HEDGES FOR THE CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY IN AKOLA DISTRICT, M.S., INDIA

Abstract

Agricultural development in the recent past year has been characterized by the implementation of modern practices in field for the higher production of crop yield. Due to that rising pressure, cultivators push the hedges and increase the boundary of their farm, results into destruction of hedges and diversified the plant vegetation along hedges. So, the Hedge rows are crucial for the conservation of rural biodiversity, functioning as an important habitat, refuge and corridor for numerous species. Now a days most of the recent methods are used for the removal of weeds which is harmful to the field hedges. The present investigation is based on the importance of traditional hedge grow network, landscape and save the destruction of diverse plant species vegetation along hedges which are nothing but the representative of the forest which were present in the past.
