Abstract

In the experiment, standardization of time for irrigation under drip method to conduct Ambia bahar in Western Maharashtra, in respect of plant growth, the maximum plant height 3.32 m was recorded T8, in 45 days stress period, followed by T, and T4, while the maximum canopy (21.10 m3) volume was recorded in T4, withhelding irrigation upto 205 mm CPE followed by Ts.The no of fruit (289.88) was recorded maximum in T5 followed by T4, while maximum weight (195.29 g/ftuit) was recorded in T4.The maximum yield (15.97 tJha) was recorded in 1-8, which was at par with T4, T, and T. In case of quality parameters maximum juice content (45.93%) was recorded in T9, while the maximum TSS (8.52 °Brix) and total sugars (6.64%) was recorded in T7. The ascorbic acid content was maximum (68.29 mg/100 mL juice) in T3. The water saving was in the range of 54.99 to 55.93% in drip method of irrigation as compared to conventional method of irrigation. Overall, considering water saving 55.13% with high yield potential 15.41 t/ha was found superior and hence it is recommended to withheld irrigation water
