Abstract

The present investigation was conducted at Post Graduate Institute Research Farm, Mahatma Phule KrishiVidyapeeth, Rahuri, during summer 2005.The trial was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design with eight treatment combinations replicated with three times with four potash levels (0, 25, 37.5 and 50 kg ISO hal and foliar spray of vermiwash @ 50 ml lit' and waterThe variety Vaibhav was used for sowing. The soil of experimental plot was clayey, low in available nitrogen (198.25 kg hal), medium in available phosphorus (18.27 kg hal and high in available potash (404.3 kg ha-').The sowing was done on 14th March, 2005.Application of 50 kg K70 ha-' was significantly influenced by resulting higher growth and yield attributing characters. Similarly, in case of foliar spray of vermiwash result the higher growth and yield contributing characters significantly. Grain (10.86 q ha-'), straw yield (13.83 q hal) alongwith biological yield (24.53 q ha-'), protein content (19.87 %),gross (Rs. 21623) and net returns (Rs. 11806) were also increased significantly with increase in potash level upto 50 kg ha-'. The grain (10.4 q hal) and straw yield (13.11 q hal along with biological yield (22.86 q ha-'), protein content in grains (18.88 %), gross (Rs. 20870.68) and net returns (Rs. I I I 64) per hectare were highest due to foliar application of vermiwash.Application of potash level of 50 kg K20 ha.' with vermiwash foliar spray significantly improved the growth yield (10.86 q ha') and quality (protein 19.87%) of summer mungbean.
