In India re-vegetation of overburden dump is a difficult task as physico-chemical and biological condition of dump restricts the vegetation establishment. In practice, the re-vegetation of overburden dumps were taken care mainly for three years and left as such. In many cases it has been observed that after four or more years that planted species shows retarded growth and finally die or dry.This may be due to non-compliance or continuation of standard practices or lack of vision to utilize that particular land for any fruitful purposes.
