D.V. Pampatwar, N.E. Ambore and M.S. Kadam

Abstract

The final stage with respect to increasing weight of body fish in Channa gachua and Labeo rohita, showed marked situation that in Channa gachua the increase was slow and gradual while in Labeo rohita the increase in haemoglobin percentage was extremely sharp. This might be due to its higher activities of the body, it showed comparatively fastest metabolic rate than that of the Channa gachua and hence it showed extreme need of haemoglobin for exchange of gases and oxidative phosphorelation at cellular level.
