Abstract

The investigation entitled effect of potash and zinc levels on growth and yield of pigeonpea (Cajanas caJan (L.) Millsp) was undertaken during Kharif 2002 at the Cropping System Research Project, M.P.K.V., Rahuri. The field experiment was laid down in a split plot design with three replications and twelve treatment conbinations comprised of four levels of potash (0,25,50,75 kg ha, ) in main plots and three levels of zine sulphate (0,10, 20 kg ha') in sub plots. Potash levels @ 50 kg ha attained maximum value of growth characters as well as yield contributing characters than those of 0 and 25 kg K20 ha". The potash @ 75 kg ha' was at par with that of 50 kg ha i The 50 kg K20 ha produced significantly higher grain yield (31.07 q ha 1), straw yield (101.11 t ha') and bhusa yield (21.33 t ha ) in pigeonpea crop over those of 0 and 25 kg K20 ha'. Application of zinc sulphate @ 10 kg ha"' produced significantly higher grain (29.55 q ha-1) stick (95.81 t ha') and bhusa yields (20.58 q ha ).
