FLUORIDE CONTENT IN GROUND WATER OF SOME RURAL COMMUNITIES OF DISTRICT UNNAO (UP.)

Abstract

Twenty water samples were collected from rural communities of Tehsil Purwa district Unnao (U.P.) and analysed for fluoride and other physico-chemical parameters like colour, odour, temperature, turbidity, suspended solids, pH, hardness and alkalinity which influence the fluoride concentration. The fluoride ion concentration in these areas ranged from 1.5 mg/L to 2.5 mg/L where as permissible limit for fluoride ion concentration is only 1.5 mg/L.
