Abstract

Trials were conducted during 1999, 2000 and 2001 to study the knockdown effect of monocrotophos (0.025% and 0.05%), phosaIone (0.025% and 0.05%), neem oil (1%), pongamia oil (1%) and mahua oil (1%) against the control of citrus blackfly. Pooled analysis revealed that, monocrotophos (0.05%) was most effective over all the treatments which recorded 75.10%, 84.00% and 85.50% nymphal mortality on 3''',7t" and 14''' day respectively. Among the plant oils, neem oil (1%) was found to he promising, recorded 56.00%, 65.48% and 68.10% nymphal mortality. Application of monocrotophos (0.05%) during early nymphal stages followed by neem oil (1%) during later stages was found to be effective and also safely of parasitioids.
