EFFECT OF DIFFERENT ROOTSTOCKS ON GROWTH, YIELD AND QUALITY PARAMETERS IN SWEET ORANGE (CITRUS SINENSIS OSBECK) VAR.MOSAMBI

Abstract

The studies on growth, yield, and quality parameters in sweet orange on different root stocks were conducted at AICRP on Citrus, MPKV, Rahuri during the year 1979 to 2003. The Marmalade orange rootstock seems to be the most suitable for sweet orange cultivar Mosambi as it showed the best scion : stock ratio (0.90), high yield (67.39 kg/plant), maximum percent survival (79.16), minimum decline percent (15.92), good quality fruits and more gross monetary returns of sweet orange var.Mosambi under Western Maharashtra condition.
