Abstract

The field experiment was conducted to evaluate the "different row spacing and weed control methods on yield parameters of pigeonpea", during kharif2002 at Post Graduate Institute Farm, Dept. of Agronomy, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Dist. Ahmednagar (M.S.). The experiment was conducted in randomized block design (factorial) with sixteen treatment combinations, replicated three times with four row spacings viz., 45 x 20 cm (S,), 90 x 20 cm (S2), 30-60 x 20 cm (S) and 60-120 x 20 cm (S4) and four levels of weed control methods i.e. Fluchloralin @ 1 kg a.i./ha (WO, W, + one hoeing after 40 days (W,), weedy check (W1) and weed free (W4). The row spacing of 60-120 x 20 cm improved all yield contributing characters while row spacing 30-60 x 20 cm produce more grain and stick yield. In weed control method the treatment integrated weed control i.e. fluchloralin @ 1 kg a.i. ha-' + one hoeing after 40 days recorded highest yield.
