Abstract

Aspergillus niger,Aitemaria and Fusarium were isolated from leaves of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) and fruits of dolichos (dolichos lab lab) and amla (Emblica officinolis). These forms were grown on GN medium. The color of culture filtrate was pink for Fusariurn,Yellow for Aspergillus and Alternaria. The development of pigments in the culture filtrates at different pH was measured. Maximum pigmentation was observed at pH 8.5 for Aspergillus niger, 3.5 for Fusarium and 5.5 and 6.5 for Altemaria. The effect of culture filtrate on seed germination of seeds of tomato, dolichos and amla showed inhibition of germination in all pH The culture filtrate of Aspergillus inhibited germination of seeds of amla at all pH except pH 5.5. In all pH 20% germination of seed was favored by culture filtrate of Altemaria. The shoot length was inhibited by all fungi, but the root length was more in pH 5.5.
