OBNOXIOUS WEEDS OF SIVASAGAR AND THEIR UTILITY AS FOLKLORE MEDICINE AMONG THE AHOM AND KHAMTI COMMUNITIES

Abstract

The paper deals with the use of weeds as folklore medicine by the Ahom and Khamti communities of Sivasagar district.The weeds are abundant everywhere at Sivasagar.The present study highlights the use of eighteen weeds as folklore medicine providing details about the plants, preparation of drugs and their uses as folklore medicine by the ethnic groups.
