SUITABILITY OF CRLICLUSTRIA: EFFLUENT WATER FOR IRRIGATION AROUND VADODARA INDUSTRIAL ZONE OF GUJARAT

Abstract

The effluent samples were collected from the area of the different industries nearby Vadodara district during winter (January, 02) and Summer (May, 02) to assess the suitabiliy or land use. The analysis revealed that the effluent water contain high salt concentration, BOD and COD and also contaminated with toxic elements viz. Mn, Cd, Co, Cr and Ni. The quality of efluent water are referred as highly saline having high SAR vales. These effluent waters are suitable for tolerante crop in coarse soil receiving 550-700 mm rainfall.
