A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE PHYSIOLOGY AND PROTEIN CONTENT IN CHLORELLA PYRLNOIDOS AND SPIRLILINA PLATENSIS BIOMASS PRODUCTIVITY

M. R. MANJU

Abstract

pirzuiiuii grows naturally in alkaline lakes, has a long history of being used as a human food. It is considered as rich in protein and vitamin content. The aim of the present work is to compare the protein content and productivity in Spinilina and Ch/ore/la and how it can be increased by altering the physical and chemical parameters. The study was also made to determine the biochemical content of both algae, so that Chlorella can be used as a substitute for Spirulina.
