Abstract

Comparative evaluation of some selected biofertilizer, compost, organic manure, poultry manure, neemcake and mixed fertilizer, collected from different places of West Bengal, was carried out on the basis of physicochemical analysis. The study revealed that they differ significantly from one another in different aspects. Among the different varieties studied, C/N ratio revealed high organic matter content in all collected fertilizer, compost and manures where as the N:P:K ratio (7.2:0.6:0.2) and total percentage of the N,P,K, value (8.09%) were found highest only in case of mixed fertilizer, suggesting its suitablility in terms of agricultural production and organic farming than other types of fertilizers.
