Abstract

Decolourizing fungal species such as Aspergillus flavus, Helminthosporium sp, Mucor sp, Penicillium sp and Trichodenrui viride were isolated from textile effluent and its rate of decolourization by these isolates performed under invitro conditions. Among the isolates A. flavus showed maximum degradation towards Remazol yellow and Remazol orange, Moderate effect was noted on Mucor sp. Helminthosporiurn, Penicilium sp. and minimum decolourization percentage recorded against Trichoderma viride. Dry weight and protein content were also estimated. Thus, the present study was carried out to determine the ability of fungus to decolourize the textile dyes.
