PRODUCTION OF CELLULASE FROM ASPERGILLUS NIGER AND BACILLUS SLIBTILIS USING PINE APPLE PEEL AS SUBSTRATE BY SOLID STATE FERMENTATION

M. SUNITHA, E.RANI AND K. DEVAKI

Abstract

The Fruit juice waste pineapple peel was used for the production of cellulase using Aspergillus niger and Bacillus sub/ills by solid state fermentation. The enzyme yield was maximum from Bacillus sublilis compared to A.niger. Both species follow the same requirement pattern of 10 grin substra te,75% moisture content,2 days incubation period, 35°C incubation temperature. Addition of carbon source like Glucose, Galactose, Maltose, Starch, Sucrose is not influencing enzyme production in A.niger where as in B.sublilis the addition of 0.01 g of Glucose and Starch increase the yield considerably. Addition on Nitrogen sources like Beef extract and Sodium nitrate increase the enzyme yield in A.niger and B.subtilis all the nitrogen source used increase the enzyme production to certain extent except Ammonium nitrate and Ammonium chloride.
