PHOSPHATASE ACTIVITY IN SEMI ARID SOILS OF PATANRATNA TRIVEDI AND S.A. BHATTAbstract Phosphatase activity at four sites differing in topography and texture at two depths viz., 0-10 & 20-30 cm was studied from semi-arid soil of Patan during June 2001 to May 2002 in early stage of monsoon and post monsoon seasons. All the four sites showed varied Phosphatase activity during the study. Site-Ii shows highest alkaline Phosphatase activity during the monsoon and post monsoon seasons. Site-IV showed lowest acid Phosphatase activity during the monsoon and post monsoon seasons.
