EFFECT OF INCUBATION TIME AND SUBSTRATE FEEDING ON 0-GLUCOSIDA SE PRODUCTION BY PENICILLILIM PURPIIROGENLIMDHAKE AND M.B. PATILAbstract P. purpurogenum produced intracellular and extracellular Pr-glucosidase in a medium containing sucrose as the carbon source. The intracellular activity was found in the mycelium within 24 hours and reached to the peak on 41" day of cultivation with similar rise in mycelial mass. The extracellular 13- glucosidase was observed in the growth medium on 81" day which continued to increase till 14 days. Induction in intracellular 13-glucosidase activity was observed when fresh sucrose was provided during incubation period when it was completely exhausted. Appearance of extracellular 13-glucosidase activity was, however, found to be delayed in the sucrose fed cultures.
